You = thought = Me
Think: who are you? You, who are you really?
If by an unfortunate stroke of fate you lose your arm in a car crash, of course you’d still be you — you without an arm. But if your parts get scattered all over the place, who are you? The head? The body? The piece that has more parts attached? What if none is left of your body?
These may be queer questions, nonetheless, grounded on the basic question: who are you.
Are you the part that is vegetatively remaining alive? Or are you the brain in coma?
These train of thoughts leds me to the internet. It seems like we’re all just minds interacting. No face, no body, no hand, no feet. I don’t see you, you don’t see me. I am the person your mind is forming…. base, perhaps, on your own personality too. Because your mind connects to mine, I am a person? I am a thought, your thought. You are a thought, my thought.
Think: who am I? Who is the person you now read?
“But y’all see me cuz, you don’t see with your eyes. You perceive with your minds.”~Gorillaz, Clint Eastwood

From what i hv learn since young. Who am I is referring to the truth self, our spirit..that we cant feel and cant see..heehee. Only after death then we will know who are we.
O.O
hmmm… who am i? i am who i am.. a human person lol
ahehhe
i am who you think i am… i am who he thinks i am… i am who she thinks i am… i am who they think i am… the impression i make on people defines who i am for them. but the question is, are their perceptions about you who you really are? are your perceptions about yourself who you really are? hmm… *epistaxis* syet je gipasakit nimo akong ulo… hehe ^_^
maybe there are two “yous”… since man by nature is a social being then one “you” is how other people think about who you are. The other “you” is the you who you think you are… I guess I’ll just leave it at that… ^_^
Hihihi! Sorry to cause you headache Goy! ^_^ Yeah, and I agree there are many facets of who we are. We just have to know each.
uh… cogito ergo sum?
ahehehe @.@
we actually don’t know who we really are because we have a different view of ourselves different from what others view us
you are what you have become. you are the product of your choices, ideas, beliefs, mishaps, etc. if you ask that question to someone, they’ll answer objectively. if you ask that question to yourself, (and while looking at a mirror to add some drama effect, hehe) you’ll probably can’t answer. and even though you somehow answer it, you can’t be satisfied with it. some people would say that if you can’t answer that question, it means that you do not know yourself. but if you did answer it, then that is it. its like there is nothing more left, because you already knew. (omg, i’m making a reaction paper, hahaha. don’t mind this je, problema na nako ni, hehe)
^- nuff said.. i agree ahehehehe…
(to anton):kaya nga dba iba2x mga tao? i view in you a different angle, in a different degree kahit i-tangent, cosine, sine…etc mo pa… and people view you in another angle different from my view…etc And i agree we are who we make we are…
The thing is in our everyday interaction w/ people of different culture & beliefs we adjust ourselves, there are things we show other people that we don’t show to others. For example, Person A is a chain smoker and this person is bestfriends w/ Person B, now Person A shows a different facade to Person B, than to a friend Person C. Person A seems to be a perfect friend, non-smoker, non-drinker and oh so obidient child to Person B, but show otherwise to Person C. It’s true don’t you agree? Now, who is the real person a?
People tend to hide something from other people, and shows it to others. Another example, if a person likes another person (let’s name them D & E), person d tells his/her friends about his/her liking to e… talks in a very different manner about e, but when d talks to e this person shows otherwise…like a very cold exterior opposite to what he/she feels/see the person(does not apply to everyone) mao gani naay torpe dha pareha sa akong classmate a2ng hs…(je, kilala mo 2 si nic2x aheh shh… don’t tell him he’ll kill me when he sees me, he’ll probably hang me sa ring ng bball sa house nila).
…i’ll end it here…if i say more this will be like another blog entry, and this is how i react on blogs.
and that’s why there is this thing we call facade… people are dynamic and are molded by nurture & nature.
…
ahehe
